Race Map

This race is a relay where each team member covers the same 3.5-3.6 km course.  The race chute will serve as the start and finish (as well as the transition) for all team members. Each team will be provided race bibs for each leg (3 total).  The first bib is to be worn by runner number 1 (for legs 1 and 4), second bib to be worn by runner 2 (for legs 2 and 5) and so forth.

The race will start outside Berry Patch Caravan Park towards the end of Blackburn Drive (well past The Berry Patch Café entrance). Parking for vehicles is preferred to be off the road and inside the caravan parking area, behind the fenced section. We ask you NOT to park at the Berry Patch car park, or next to the road in front of the fenced section. Please be mindful of caravan park guests.

We are running in an anticlockwise direction.

Runners head east along Blackburn Dr to a point where they will be directed over the railway line.  The course heads north-east, crossing the vacant block to Boyes St and then onto the boardwalk until the end of Lukin St. Turn right and follow the path through the bush (not down the grass lane) and onto the Esplanade.  Follow the Esplanade remaining on the right-hand side (seaside) of the road.

NOTE: Between Henry St and Albert St along the Northern esplanade there are pathway construction works whereby you will be required to continue running along the right-hand side of the road through this section. It should be noted there is one-way traffic travelling in the same direction through this section, please be aware of any cars behind you. After Albert St, you will be required to run on the new coastal pathway on the right-hand side of the road until you are crossed to the left side of the road on Turners Beach Road just before the railway crossing. Basically, if there is a pathway, please use the path, and not the road.

Cross the railway line on the footpath and keep left to arrive back in Blackburn Drive, running towards the start/finish on the left-hand side of the road until near the start/finish chute. This completes one lap, where runners will tag their next team member.  The race will be two laps of this course for each runner.

Presentations will be conducted at The Berry Patch as soon as possible following the conclusion of the race. Multiple table reservations have been made by the club outside near the grass and shaded vine areas (Table #7 to #13). Feel free to stay and order coffee, and/or lunch.
