President’s introduction to 2019 season

I extend a very warm welcome to everybody to our Club, as we
start our journey into the 52nd season.
The Club again would like to acknowledge the original
indigenous owners of this land it competes on, over the season.
The Club’s programme will consist of 27 weekly races starting
on March 24, through to September 29, with a break for the
Launceston Running Festival on June 2.
The distances of the races will range from 5 km up to the
marathon of 42.2 km, with several new courses to be included
this season.
The Club greatly appreciates the wonderful sponsorship from the
many business houses and firms, and I urge all members to
reward them with your patronage.
A timing chip on your ankle or shoe will again be required while
competing in all races, as well as a race number on your front.
As most of our races are on public roads and footpaths, I urge
all members to use extreme care, and obey all road rules and
respect other users.
I wish all competitors a very successful and enjoyable year, as
you take part in the Club’s season.
