Darlene Jacques recorded her second victory with the club this Friday

Race two of the PCCCT 2021 season was run on Friday evening, with excellent running conditions greeting forty-five runners at Don for the Cradle Coast Sports and Events 7km Handicap.

With Run Devonport being held on Sunday, the run provided an excellent opportunity for runners to flush the legs out in anticipation for the event on Sunday.

Raymond Spinks led the field away, followed closely by Nicole Sharp and Ken Williams.

It did not take long for the race winner, Darlene Jacques, to chase them and the other front-markers down. She then led for most of the race recording an emphatic win by over a minute. Only four years ago, she made her debut with the PCCCT on the same course. Jacques credited her success to the hard work she has been putting in over the last year, training with the Everyday Lions group as well as working with Joel Deegan on her training and diet.

Running into second place for the second week in a row, Greg Malley recorded another strong run. He is sure to record a victory in the coming weeks.

The top three was rounded out by Tony Abel, with the fastest male Hayden Bishop finishing fourth.

Daile Bennett-Moyle ran a strong fifth and recorded the fastest female time. Other strong results were recorded by Sam Lovatt, Brendan Burr, and Gerard Lowry.

The nominated time winners were Lachie Riley and Hannah Elphinstone.
